The Week Ahead; Conneaut Lake Dual and Athens Tournament
Posted in: Coach Cook's Corner
Busy week filled with a many test’s ahead of us starting with tonight’s home dual meet against Conneaut Lake.
The match will start at 7:00 with the doors opening at 5:30. The middle school will also be wrestling Conneaut Lake in a dual starting at 4:30 at the middle school. Conneaut Lake is a region meet as was McDowell and is as much of a must win as any other match we wrestle and they also own a win over McDowell last week. Conneaut Lake also features a returning state Medalist in Matt Laird who placed 8th at 135 last season.
After the Lake match back to school and one more practice before leaving for Athens. The varsity squad will take off Thursday night after practice on one of our longest trips of the season to Athens, PA for the Jarvis Wildcat Memorial Invitational. This is an 8 team pool tournament but, has a different format than the Mountaineer Tournament, each weight class is a pool to itself which has our wrestler competing against the seven other wrestlers in the weight class to determine a champion and places. Wrestlers will be seeded as best as possible to achieve a 1-2 seed in the 7th and final round.
Here is a preliminary itinerary for this weekend.

Hope to see Family and Fans in the stands at both events.
