103 pounder, Paul Scharrer was named the Erie Times-News male Athlete Of The Week on December 24th, 2008 for his performance under pressure at the GM vs. Conneaut Lake dual meet on December 17th.

Paul Scharrer Times-News Athlete Of The Week With the team score tied at 28 and the match on the line, Scharrer beat Lake’s Aaron Smith in the final bout, 8-4 to secure the win for the Lancers.

It was a great win for Paul because Smith had pinned him at last year’s dual meet between the two teams. Paul got a big takedown in the final period and that was the difference. Congratulations to Paul Scharrer!
