Chris Laird. 2010-2014.

Chris Laird was a 4 year starter for the McLane wrestling team. During his career he compiled a 112-48 won-loss record. Chris went 69-12 his junior and senior years with 6 of those 12 losses coming in the regional and state tournaments. Chris was also a team co-captain as a senior!

As a sophomore, Laird placed 6th at the Fred Bell and Tool City Tournaments. He also took 3rd at Districts and qualified for regionals. His junior year, Chris posted a 34-6 record. He placed 7th at the King of the Mountain Tournament, 3rd at Tool City and 1st at Fred Bell. He also won the District 10 182 lbs. title. He placed 3rd at regionals and qualified for states.

As a senior, Laird went 35-6. He was 5th at the KOM Tournament, 2nd at Tool City and won his second straight Fred Bell title. Chris also won the District 10 195 lbs. title and was runnerup at regionals. He just missed placing at the PIAA Tournament.

Chris broke a 10 year old record for career escapes and finished in the #11 position for career wins (112). He also finished in the number 5 spot for career takedowns. Chris scored over 100 takedowns his senior year, a feat accomplished by only six other Lancer wrestlers.
