Saturday Results From the J. O. State Tournament in Johnstown
Three GM Wrestlers Place At JO State
Tournament
Hadley Harrison was denied
a second J.O. state title by Jake Snyder of Hyndman. Snyder
defeated Harrison by a 6-2 score in the finals. Snyder was a
3rd place finisher a year ago. Keith Scharrer lost his
wrestle-off for 7th place to Simon Rice of Central Daughin and
finished 8th. Denton Sauers also lost his final
bout and finished 8th.

Hadley Harrison Wrestles His Way Into
the State Finals
Hadley Harrison made
his way into the state finals Saturday
afternoon with a 2-1 win over Clearfield's Tom Barger. Hadley
has outscored his opponents 13-2 in three matches. This is not
uncharted territory for Harrison. He finished 5th at
the 2001 championships and 1st in 2000.
Keith Scharrer lost a 4-3
heartbreaker in the 4th round of consolations to Ryan Link of
Penn Cambria. Denton Sauers also lost his 4th round consy
match by a 6-0 count to Aaron Sandel of Milton. Scharrer
and Sauers will wrestle off for 7th place later this
afternoon.

Colin Feikles was eliminated
from the state tournament Saturday morning. He suffered his
second loss to Justin Buchanan of Sharpsville, by a 16-5 score.
Colin also won two bouts in the tournament.
Don Osinski bounced back
from a prelim loss to pin David Cunningham of Woodland Hills
in the 2nd consy round. He was then eliminated from the
tournament with a 1-0 to Angello Salvage of Seneca. Osinski
had beaten Salvage in the Area VIII finals last weekend.
Keith Scharrer and Denton
Sauers guaranteed themselves a spot in the top eight by
winning third round consy bouts. Scharrer beat Tony Langdon
of North East, 7-4. Sauers topped Jamestown's Russell
Wells, 11-2.

Don Osinski lost his preliminary match...no further results
on Don were available as of 9:35 PM.
Still alive in the consolations
in the 10 and under class at 90 lbs. was Colin Feikles.
Hadley Harrison, Keith
Scharrer and Denton Sauers all won their preliminary
round matches and moved into the quarter-finals. Scharrer then
lost his quarter-finals match to Nico Cortese of Franklin Regional
by fall and will drop into the 3rd consolation round.
Denton Sauers lost a close
match in the quarter-finals to Chris
Steffa of Upper Darby, 2-0. Hadley Harrison is
the lone GM wrestler to move into the semi-finals. He defeated
Cory Leslie of Keystone Oaks...5-0

Results of the Area VIII Tournament
The Area VIII Tournament was held
on Friday and Saturday, March 16th and 17th at Corry High School.
Thanks to some hard wrestling and great coaching by Greg Scharrer,
John Heynoski, Dan Harrison, Kurt Osinski, Bill Leehan and Chris
Cesnik, the Lancers will send nine wrestlers to the J.O. state
tournament in Johnstown.
Note: Hadley Harrison won the Area
VIII tournament for the ninth time.
